Week 7 Newsletter
Are you having an issue hitting your shots straight or even with a little draw?
Problem:
In earlier newsletters, we discussed that the reason a golf ball spins to the right for a right handed player is because the clubface is open relative to their swing path. The steeper your swing path is, the harder it is to get that clubface squared up at impact.
Try:
Next time you are on the range you can copy the setup I have above. Once you are all lined up square to your target, place a headcover just to the far side of the target line and to the right of your golf ball when you are looking down at it. Leave just a little space between the toe of your club and the headcover. Then start hitting shots without hitting the headcover.
Why:
Doing so will flatten out your angle of attack into the ball and help to encourage a drawing ball flight.
