NOW is the time!!

REACHING NEW LEVELS IN YOUR GOLF GAME

THE FALL IS A GREAT TIME TO SET THE STAGE FOR NEXT SEASON!  Now is the time to finally learn how to cure that slice, tame that hook, or once and for all, lay the foundation for more distance, consistency, and enjoyment in your golf game.  If there are substantial improvements you would like to make in your game, now is one of the best times to do it.

Without knowing better, many golfers embark upon a major swing change within a couple of weeks of an important round or tournament.  For golfers in the northeast, that time is typically in the summer.  Making big changes a couple of weeks before an important round leaves the golfer little time to get comfortable, and often times the changes do not stick.  This leaves the golfer frustrated, and feeling like they just can’t improve.  It has been said that it can take anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 correct repetitions to make any swing change natural without having to think about it anymore.

In the mid 1980’s Sir Nick Faldo met with Swing Coach David Leadbetter to help him refine his swing so he would be a regular contender in Major Championships.  Leadbetter mentioned that “Although Faldo’s swing was beautiful and rhythmical, it camouflaged a number of faults.”  Before embarking on the changes that Leadbetter saw fit for Faldo, he warned Faldo that it would take a couple of years before he would really see the benefits.  Leadbetter’s thoughts about the changes were correct.  It did take a couple of years, but Faldo eventually went on to win 6 major championships.

The Faldo swing changes highlight the fact that it takes time, effort, and dedication to a clear process if one wants to really improve their golf game.  When you meet with me, we will set up a tailored game plan for you that will encompass specific drills, and a practice regimen that works with wherever you will be geographically located over the next six months.  We can address the swing, the fitness aspect, while always taking into account the psychology of the sport.  A good game plan will yield good results, and keep you engaged and empowered throughout the process.  With some work this fall and winter, you could be playing your BEST golf come next season.  Looking forward to seeing you on the range!!!
