In summary: When you are hooking the ball, the clubface is closed relative to your swing path. Here are three things you can do to hold the face more open through the hitting area:
1) “Lagging” the club on the downswing will help you to delay the hit with the clubhead which has a face opening effect through impact.
2) Rotating your lower body will help you “steepen” your swing path on the way through the hit. A steeper path will minimize face rotation thus helping to stabilize the clubface.
3) Creating a line of extension post impact with your left arm and the clubshaft helps the clubface stay more square by preventing your hands from outracing your body.
