2 Tips For Staying In Posture During Your Swing!
Are you having a tough time staying in your posture through the hitting area? Do you tend to find yourself standing up or coming out of your shots and can’t seem to find the cure?
While staying in your posture is key, what is often overlooked is how a proper swing plane and posture work together to encourage consistent solid ball striking. If you are someone who comes out of your posture, there is a great chance that your swing is off plane.
In this month’s video analysis, Dave takes a closer look at how Michelle Wie’s swing plane helps her to maintain great posture through the hitting area:
In Summary:
1.) During the downswing, stop the camera where your left arm is just about parallel to the ground. At this point make sure the butt end of the club is pointing slightly outside the target line. Also, make sure your hands are much closer to your right shoulder than your left from the “down the target line” view.
2.) Doing this will flatten out your downswing which will encourage you to stay in your posture while you extend your arms through the hitting area.
